I went to go see Mamma Mia, and I think I was the only male in the theater. I liked the movie; even if the audience surrounding me was all female and generally over 30 years old (probably more like 40). But then, I like the music of ABBA. I have always wondered why their songs made such an impact, what makes it so special. Whatever the reason, it will be a part of our culture for at least as long as my existence here on earth.

Most reviews gave this film a so-so rating, and almost without except praised the music. Well, I enjoyed both, as did the audiences I was with. They even stayed through the closing credit. It must be that most negative and so-so reviews came from male reviewers, and they simply did not connect with what they perceived as a “chic flick.”

I recommend the film. It was a great way to spend an afternoon.
